Iblawg All Jazzed Up

Posted by iblawg on December 16, 2006

The moment I walked into the store I felt somewhat attached to the music that was played. I immediately recognized the song “Smile“; it was a soundtrack from one of the movies I used to watch. And The Angels Sing (Les Anges qui chantent) is another one of my favorite tracks. I listened to the track twice at the listening corner.

How to Restring a Classical Guitar

Posted by iblawg on October 23, 2006

If you’re unsure whether your guitar is classical or acoustic, fret not. Some people do not know the differences simply because they have not been introduced to a different type of guitar before. Generally speaking, all non-electric guitars are acoustic guitars – they include both metal- and nylon-strung guitars. But by convention, we usually use ‘classical’ when referring specifically to nylon-strung guitars. Otherwise, the term ‘acoustic’ refers to metal-strung, non-electric guitars. My classical guitar needs new strings.

How to Restring an Acoustic Guitar

Posted by iblawg on October 15, 2006

Ok, this is for noobs. It’s gonna be done on J’s guitar. It is a decent Fender, pretty trustworthy. We used it for most of our practices back when we were in school. The high-E string was broken when I borrowed it. Maybe it was left untouched for too long. Or maybe it was a case of mishandling. Anyway, the rest of the strings were in bad shape too so I figured that I’d have all of them replaced.

Iblawg Sings Spanish Alright

Posted by iblawg on October 7, 2006

I found this nifty feature which allows podcasting on wordpress.com blogs. And I was damn determined that I’d use it. So using it, I am. Here is La Camisa Negra, sung by no other than yours truly. If you’re allergic to noise pollution then don’t bother clicking ‘play’!

[Edit: If you can't play it, sorry guys. Some bug with the player. Anyway, mp3 available here (2.5MB). Sing along! It's fun!]

Here’s the lyrics:

The Last Waltz (Engelbert Humperdinck)

Posted by iblawg on June 28, 2006

I wondered should I go or should I stay,
the band had only one more song to play.
And then I saw you out the corner of my eye,
a little girl, alone and so shy.

I had the last waltz with you,
two lonely people together.
I fell in love with you,
the last waltz should last forever.

But the love we had was going strong,
through the good and bad we get along.
And then the flame of love died in your eye,
my heart was broke in two when you said goodbye.

I had the last waltz with you,
two lonely people together.
I fell in love with you,
the last waltz should last forever.

It’s all over now, nothing left to say,
just my tears and the orchestra playing.
La la la la la la la la la,
la la la la la la la la la.

I had the last waltz with you…
La la la la la la la la la.

Grey Skies, Somber Me

Posted by iblawg on April 14, 2006

I woke up to a bad morning, LW even offered her paracetamol, which she claimed was better than the ones I have.

And it rained the entire afternoon. I just didn’t feel my best the whole day.

Kiss me and smile for me

Tell me that you’ll wait for me

Hold me like you’ll never let me go..

I was driving alone in Sunway when it came on air. The next thing I knew, I sang along. The familiar words and tunes brought back heaps of memories.

What an unproductive day. The only thing worth mentioning is that I helped cook dinner today. *Chuckles*

A reminiscence of sorts. If only there were a time machine..

Right Here Waiting

Posted by iblawg on March 26, 2006

A little melancholic now. For what it’s worth, I’m still keeping this:

Score

My first attempt at writing a complete score by memory, based on my own interpretations. Three years have passed, and it remains as my one and only piece ever written. These days there’s hardly any need to handwrite a complete score.

If I see you next to never, how can we say forever?
