Parkson’s Educare 2006

Posted by iblawg on December 11, 2006

We headed straight to the Lower Ground floor of Parkson only to be told that all the school items were located on the First floor. Well, last year it was on the Lower Ground floor. We were doing what we did last year – buying school items for needy children.

I thought it was pretty easy – just grab two (or three) sets of boys’ and girls’ school uniforms, shoes and school bags. I mean, it’s not like we know who we’re buying for, so no point deliberating over its sizes.

But mom was careful in choosing the sizes of shirts and pants. She made sure that they were neither too small nor too big. I guess when it comes to buying clothes, it’s only natural to think about the right sizes.

No such problems for white socks. The raincoats looked nice, but I don’t remember using raincoats back in school. By the way, normally I don’t go around snapping photos in shopping malls. But dad’s phone was with me and I couldn’t resist playing with the camera.

Ah, I liked choosing school bags. Mom asked for my opinion. I thought the yellow and blue ones were nice. And I imagined how excited the new owner of the bags would be – just like how I felt each time I got a new school bag. After paying for the items, they were dropped into this cage:

There were already several packs of donated items in there. I just hope that this cage is well guarded; just in case some freak decided to steal the stuff in there. The opening was so big anybody could grab the items and flee.

This is the sixth year Parkson’s organizing the Educare programme; hopefully more and more people will chip in and contribute to the good cause.
