Kianti’s grand opening celebration in Kelana Jaya saw free flow of beer and all-you-can-eat buffet – but my fav has got to be the pizza. It was so good that each pizza never stayed on the tray for more than 5 minutes.

Have you ever driven all the way to a shopping mall only to drive back home again? I have. Yesterday. It’s not like I had too much fuel to burn. It was something else that spoilt my day. This:

The weekend before Christmas. Sunday, at that. I got stuck for close to half an hour before giving up entering the mall. I turned down to Federal Highway and never looked back. If I had persevered, I’d probably need to queue up for another half an hour before entering the carpark. And maybe another 15-20 minutes trying to get a parking.
I went home and slept like a log. Never regretted that.

The moment I walked into the store I felt somewhat attached to the music that was played. I immediately recognized the song “Smile“; it was a soundtrack from one of the movies I used to watch. And The Angels Sing (Les Anges qui chantent) is another one of my favorite tracks. I listened to the track twice at the listening corner.

We headed straight to the Lower Ground floor of Parkson only to be told that all the school items were located on the First floor. Well, last year it was on the Lower Ground floor. We were doing what we did last year – buying school items for needy children.

I left my office looking forward to meeting my friends later that night. What transpired next was way beyond my expectation. I had to call everything off after mom alerted me of the news. Everything seemed so surreal – I ended the call with a tinge of disbelief, and even told myself that I would only trust my own eyes. It was only last week we had dinner together; he was all cheerful and healthy.
If I were to compare, grandpa had been the closest to me. I used to live with my grandparents in Alor Star for a good number of years; before we all moved to the Klang Valley and settled down. Being the eldest grandchild of his, I knew him better than my sisters and cousins did. It was a heart attack that he suffered from, and I really admire my grandma for her strength throughout this whole thing. She was trying to keep him alive during the fateful attack, by doing all that she could think of at that time.
I rushed over to their home after dinner with Alicia, and was greeted by my beloved grandpa in the living hall, lying on a mattress as if he were sleeping. Grandma cried when I greeted her. It was depressing. Shortly after, uncle arrived, and ‘depressing’, then, became an understatement. I couldn’t stand being in the living hall so I went into the guest room to relax. I stayed on in the house throughout the night, and only made a trip back home once – to pack my stuff over. It was going to be a long night.

I dutifully attended the second TLI (Toastmasters Leadership Institute) training last weekend. Mind you, I was at the first one too.

The Christmas spirit is here. We were at Kelana’s Giant today and checked out some Christmas deco, which reminded me of something I still keep since coupla years ago.
