Iblawg Quotes The Age

While Malaysia fiddles, its opportunities are running dry
by Michael Backman
(November 15, 2006)

MALAYSIA’S been at it again, arguing about what proportion of the economy each of its two main races — the Malays and the Chinese — owns. It’s an argument that’s been running for 40 years. That wealth and race are not synonymous is important for national cohesion, but really it’s time Malaysia grew up.

Iblawg Needs a Favour

Posted by iblawg on November 14, 2006

Look, I have a webcam here with me. But not the CD/disk that came with it (it’s lost, ok). So I don’t have the driver or user manual; I don’t even know its brand. Don’t ask. Here’s how it looks like:

So if you somehow know where to get the driver, I’d appreciate it if you could drop me a line. Tell me if you’ve seen it before (this webcam), or your friend has it (or something similar), or you know its brand or where to get the driver online – whatever. I’ve tried searching but they didn’t work.

Anyone who provides an information that leads to the successful installation of the driver will be rewarded… with a webcam-snapshot of an undisclosed body part of mine. Naw I’m just kidding. You’ll get 10 brownie points. If the driver’s contained in a CD and you decide to deliver it to my doorstep you’ll get 75 extra brownie points. Yeah.

The author brings us back and forth in time, and the story unfolds in the form of first-person accounts of Henry and Clare. Henry suffers from a genetic condition that throws him back to the past, and sometimes future, without control. Each time he ‘time travels’, his present self would disappear, and reappear in another place, another time.

Iblawg Runs in the SJ10K 2006

Posted by iblawg on November 5, 2006

It felt good this morning. I had breakfast and left for MPSJ at about 6:50am. (Yeah the reporting time was stated as 6:00am but, hey, get real :p). Parked somewhere opposite the complex in USJ11, and warmed myself up along the way. Flag-off time was 7:30am, for categories A and B (10 kilometers), and the man who flagged us off was none other than the ‘youthful’ MB of Selangor, Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo. I was wondering if the distance was really 10km.
