Dodol Cooking Record

[Updated, 30/03/06] I have a confession to make. The photo posted earlier (link) was of ridiculously low quality, and I didn’t like it. Therefore, after much contemplation, I decided to steal one taken by Sat, from his blog. Heh heh.
After a game of futsal last night, we returned to campus to check out the dodol cooking area. It was already 2am.

If the effort pays off, the event is going to make its way into the Malaysia Book of Records, for being the longest dodol cooking session in the country. I will be part of this feat as well – some time tomorrow. Hats off to those who stay up to stir the dodol in the middle of the night!

eh are they selling the dodol or giving it away ? today i saw them putting in those microwave-able containers. I would mind having one
p/s: it’s best not to know how some things are being prepared – in this case, the dodol

I heard that they will be stiring it for 48 hours. The longer it gets, the harder it would be to stir. How true it is leh? Can we actually stir along?

You REALLY don’t mind having a bite of those dust and dirt infested dodol? I stood there for merely 2 minutes and that’s more than enough to see what extra ’spices’ get boiled along. Like what satkuru said, best not knowing how it’s prepared. Ignorance is bliss.
:P

I tasted it, it wasn’t too bad. Don’t worry bout the additives, it was cooked alright.
Yes, Chiawyin, that’s true! Imagine stirring a very, very thick bowl of chocolate paste. The feat ended last night at 10:30pm. *chuckles*.
We’ve been to mamak stalls and pasar malamz, I’m sure the food is usually not very clean too
. Most germs are killed under cooking temperatures.
